  Acknowledgement Form

The new rule for Repair Stations allows for the submission of manuals electronically.  Many repair stations are in fact submitting their Repair Station Manuals, Repair Station Training Program Manuals and Quality Manuals electronically via email attachments.  It is still necessary to ensure delivery and receipt of the document.  To accomplish this simply build a one page acknowledgement form and attach it along with the submission of your manual.  The recipient can respond by signing the form digitally, by fax, or mail the form back.  For a copy of an acknowledgement form click here  http://bluetunadocs.com/downloads/acknowledgementform.pdf  For fully customized acknowledgment forms contact Blue Tuna.

Formalizing OJT On the Job Training

All repair stations use On the Job Training (OJT).  While OJT may be a good way to train employees, it is only one of many methods.  Sometimes OJT is abused because it is used with little or no planning.  This haphazard approach to OJT may be convenient but it is often ineffective.    Remember these fours things about OJT.  First, it is open to abuse because OJT is often taught by supervisors or technicians who may be technically sound, but lack skills as communicators.  Second, OJT on any specific topic will suffer degradation the further it moves from the source material (such as technical data).  It is astonishing how facts and data become diluted with time.  Third, OJT often lacks documentation.  Finally, many times OJT lacks planning.  To meet the requirements of the new Repair Station Training Program consider formalizing OJT.  Go here to download a form, compliments of Blue Tuna.  This form will assist you in formalizing On the Job Training.  http://bluetunadocs.com/downloads/ojtform.pdf
